Also, the genuine muffler weighs about 10 x as much as a straight through pipe so just think of the extra MPG and benefit to the environment:DQuote:

I asked about removing the diesel cat and my muffler shop told me that this supplies enough back pressure for everything. If you remove the cat you might need to do something. :oQuote:

My muffler has developed a rattle and I will soon have to remove it. Does having a straight through pipe affect the engine temp or economy?
So are there any negative side effects from removing the centre muffler?? is it much louder, back pressure, anything?? otehrwise mine is going ...

My main concern was that the exhaust shops would stock the flanges. Will have to go down and have a chat.
