Resurrecting an old thread here, but no one has mentioned a bonnet stay problem I had with both of my Defender Tdi's.
The scissor type bonnet stay, whilst very practical to use, rubs on the top of the boost compensator in the injector pump. Not only is it noisy, it was actually wearing quite a bit off the housing. Does anyone else have rub marks on their injector pump?
I've just been reading through a few threads and it seems a few have converted to the rod type stay as I am planning to do (been running without one and using a broom handle for 10 years). It's an easy job using aluminium or steel.
James.
