As a quick aside then, where does the 6mm name come from? If 6mm isn't the overall dia, or the conductor dia, just wondered why it was called 6mm? :)
I always tend to use the AWG or B&S system, as you know it's area for a given gauge and can work out what you need, but the cable sizing in most shops given in mm and the corresponding amperage rating seems fictional at best, so I always wondered if there was supposed to be a system behind it?
