How did you go grappler??
Hi Grappler
I had exactly the same problem on my 2001 TD5 Disco late last year. Had all the experts look at it over a period of 3 months. No one could find anything and the costs mounted.
At this point I got the ****s and took the car back to LR dealer with instructions that I didn't want it back until they found the problem.
2 hours and $135 later the problem turned out to be 5 earthing points out of the 15 on the car were cactus. Problem fixed and has not recurred. If an earth point is not working properly, then it is by-passed. Once the system can't find a by-pass then a fault registers. Hence all the fault lights (abs etc).
I hope this helps.

Just started to get this problem again. Last time they replaced the left wheel sensor and it seemed to work until now. Took it back to them and they re set it and it lasted a week before lights coming on again. Told them it had a bit of brake squeel on the front right and that this could be the cause and his reply was that the sensor is set to far back for it to be affected by the brake(whatever that means). Problem on going and list is growing daily.:mad:
I will share the pain with the last three posts. The dealers will rob you blind.
But I was not a sucker. As with a electronics background sensors are quite simple when you start to understand what makes them tick. Get a can of magic spray! CO2 in a small can and clean all contacts sensors and plugs in the ABS system. Also watch out for metal fragments around the brakes . feel your disks, if you have a lip on the outer edge you will be probably shaving small amounts of metal from the brake calipers which is enough to confuse the computer.
I had a sh*t load of the "three amigos" appearing on my 99 TD5 Disco until I recently had some crappy wiring repaired on accessory items. Bingo! They have not reappeared since. I am running DBA rotors and aftermarket pads.
