Thumbs up another abs modulator fault found

Hi there got my hands on another modulator (thanks Shuffle) wanted to see if it had the same problem(it did'nt) as mine had which I repaired a few months ago and is still fine with no faults, here is a link to that report.
    http://www.aulro.com/afvb/showthread...ight=modulator

I removed the shuttle valve switch from the modulator and the first picture shows the switches removed from the base plate

The switch showed an open circuit so cut the wires to seperate them and find which one is faulty.

the third picture shows the switch internals, there is two resistors either side of the micro switch and I noticed rust at the bottom of the switch and the fourth picture is with the switch removed showing the rust with the resistors either side

disco seriesII mods so far:-bullbar,hyd winch,
detriot locker, lsd front,C.D.L kit, chipped and bigger intercooler,2" lift, rock sliders, lsd in transfer case, modified auto trans.

so do you think that a new shuttle valve kit will fix this modulator?

If I can remove the modulator out of mine & check to see if either problems exist.

You do not have to remove the modulator from your car to check the shuttle valve switch connect a multimeter to pin 6 and 9

It may be a intermitent fault so may not always show up and get some one to pump the brake pedal and to push slowly and push down hard this was when mine would show a fault but not always and tap the modulator as well.

Well done, Stevo. I suppose your discovery begs the question - how did water get in there to cause the rust ? From some of the pictures. the switches seem to surrounded by white plastic and presumably sealed at the base - maybe anothere LR design feature !
