10 minutes of corrugations is like 2 years of driving when it comes to suspension (bushes etc)... can't remember where I herd it or who told me it but it was some outback adventure dude half way across the kimberleys

Well Champs, after traveling over 300km on the worse corrugations I have experienced I have spent 2 hours yesterday, tightening and replacing lost or loose fittings on "The Pig"...
Gotta wonder how many years of wear it put on the car...
ie Corrugations were approx 15cm high about 25cm apart..with road holes you could put a Zook in...can go too fast as the Holes will get you, can't go too slow as corrugations rattle the ship out of you..
So I have replaced ordinary Nuts with Lock nuts and others with some LOC tite...
What causes Corrugations on road surfaces, is just wind, why the build up if 2ton cars up and down the buggers???

I've used Nylocs, (those nuts with the nylon insert at one end), with blue 243Loctite on them for years and years and pretty well never have any problems with things coming loose. So far it's been the best answer to corrugations I've come across.
Apart from following a grader crew, at least.
Just say the bolts holding the pistons in would be loose and can be dangerousNow how to convince the missus the motor is rooted and I need that chev diesel![]()

bring it over I'll find a hundred reasons to red x the motor for ya....
Just remeber that you can use those double edged anti rattle washers as well
I mainly use em for the smaller fittings and self tappers that go into plastic wher eyou cant use loctite
