We need to clarify what car you have.
If it looks like a Truck and is noisy and leaks water quicker than a gall tank used as target practice, then its a Defender
If it drives nice and is fairly quiet and is nice on the eye and no one waves at you and your pony club car park is full of them, then its a Disco.
I have not done this been killing me with what to do and where to put the second battery then I saw these....I hope this helps I know it will me.

Try doing that with a left hooker. Servo, clutch reservoire etc etc.

The easy way is to swap the air box over with one from a 200TDi...

If you get hold of an earlier "milo tin" air filter and canister as in pic, it will give you a lot more room and make it easier to fit a snorkel at a later date, Regards Frank.Quote:

Is yours the 200 or 300 series Discovery? The 200 had the round canister air filter box (as in above picture) and the 300 has the rectanglular filter box with the flat drop in filter.
If you are looking to fit a snorkel and a twin battery then the above picture is a good solution. It also depends on which brand of snorkel you want to fit. Some snorkel intakes use the original air intake in place of the trumpet, some go in through the side of the air filter box.

Well, we seem to have cleared up the Defender vs Discovery issue but I'm still a bit unclear as to whether it's a diesel or a V8. However Tank's been the only one to offer a photo so far so I'll volunteer some photos for my '96 V8 petrol Disco.
The battery fits in front of the air-cleaner which has the air-feed from an Airtec snorkel wrapped around in front of the air-cleaner as well, it so it's a bit tight in that area. The bracket carrying the ignition module and the power steer reservoir had to be extensively modified as well but there was still room left behind the air-cleaner for my LPG converter.
The previous owner installed the snorkel and the second battery so I can't offer any first hand advice but he did say it was tricky to get everything tucked in there.

mine looks exactly the same bar the snorkle, which, looking at those photos, I'm now dreading...
By using the round "Milo Tin" air filter and canisteryou gain a lot more space, as you can see from my pic, it is advisable, if you use the round filter setup, to direct the air (from a snorkel) into the end of the filter as shown, as it was designed. The snorkel that attaches to the side of the round canister (Safari) is not efficient as it directs air from the snorkel onto one small patch (about 90mm dia.) on the side of the filter, instead of all over like the original and my setup, more pics in my gallery if you want to look, Regards Frank.Quote:
