Might be easier to lower the garage floor.

Headlinings never sit the same after removing/peeling back.

Is it the door on the garage that's the problem? I had a series 3 wagon with a roof rack\roll bar, that would not fit under a tilt a door. I adjusted the door hinges and straightened the door inside handle to fit the Landy under.

I don't know it this helps but it might.

It is far easyer to cut them off with an angle grinder and epoxy rubber caps to the holes. Then get guter mounted racks for when you need racks.

    yes I am serious.

Or if you have SLS you can get your dealer to reprogram the slabs unit to drop the rear on its ar@e.

All ready fitted a new roller door to fit the last car (Pajero ) after fitting larger tyres. Looks like it stays out side for a bit, til I work out how to lower the floor.

    it's not that bad

    Hi,

I've removed my roof rails on our 2003 TD5 Disco in order to fit a split level rack and despite my nervousness it really wasn't that hard

    There are destructions here
    http://www.discoweb.org/roofrails/index.htm

    and my own experience here
    http://home.iprimus.com.au/revill/

am happy to give help/more detailed descriptions if it would help

    cheers, Andy

Thanks Andy. Ive decided that by parking the Zook in the Garage there is far more room and our house looks far nicer with a Disco parked outside. Oh and its far less work.

hey Andy that tradesman roof rack looks the goods. How much are they? Do you get much more fuel consumption or wind noise?

    Ian,

we're pretty happy with it - only done one long trip with it so far but it held together, which is more than can be said for our previous rack.

We paid about $1600 18 months ago, that was for the alloy rack with a light bar on the front but no floor - the steel ones were 2-3 hundred dollars cheaper from memory but we were concerned about weight. A mesh floor was about an extra $140.

When it's empty we don't see a noticeable difference in fuel consumption, when it's full there must be some effect but then the car is full as well so it's hard to attribute what's due to the rack.

noise isn't too bad, there is a bit but we've played around with position to keep this to a minimum. I suspect it would less without the light bar as this is right in the main air flow off the windscreen.

    cheers, Andy
