Oil additives are excellent! At each oil change, I add Mobil Delvac to my Mobil Delvac, it runs much better!
Aggree completely that oil additives are old techno.-- look up some good stuff on the net, The Oil Bible, or something like that and stop wasting money--- racecar engines, truckengines etc. DO NOT use additives.![]()

Hello all,
I have used the product mentioned in MANY of my vehicles and customer vehicles with only VERY POSITIVE RESULTS. In some vehicles, such as old 6cylinders, you would be forced to turn the idle down immediately and other engines will just run smoother, quieter, and more efficiently.
I did my mothers 92 Honda Accord at 175,000km. Just the engine at first gave us an extra 65km range, while the gearbox and diff gave an extra 40km range all on the same volume of fuel. I also had an old gemini which had been treated and, after removing the radiator hoses and sump, drove the car around for three weeks before I sold the car. The engine never showed any signs of slowing or loosening up even though we had tried to kill it.
I would suggest that this product is unique and aimed at a particular market where reliability or heavy service would warrant the use. I have not used another product which does the same thing. This stuff actually coats the parts with a layer which buids up slightly as it is worn into the surface. Apparrently 1-4 microns - closing up some gaps. If the oil or coolant is lost, the engine tends to suffer NO Negative Consequences from wear or overheating.
Anyway, I have heard that the formula was sold to Texaco, modified and is not as effective as what was being sold in the 90s.
There are quite a few truckies who will swear by this stuff, especially if they have had coolant or oil system failures in remote locations and it gives high service life engines even more reliability. Racecars have used the stuff also such as the rotaries at bathurst in the 80s and they were using a quarter the wear parts of the other teams(engines, diffs, gearboxes). Most modern teams don't use these products as I understand it, due to its' ability to leach into the metal surface and make machining or welding impossible when necessary.
No I am not a rep for this company, just an enthusiastic supporter of the technology. This sort of thing could come from the factory in engines which have no oil and last 10 to 20 times the lifespan.
Of course oil companies will tell us it is terrible stuff as they don't own the technology and it competes directly with their sales.
Yes, oil technology is very important to engine life but the advancements in design, manufacturing and engine management also have alot to do with that reliability record. We are still pulling the same stuff out of the ground!!!!
I am afraid I can't trust a word the oil companies say.
