    BTW Zook
my only foray into other brands of 4x4 was a suzi, which as a toy went further than any other I have either driven or owned. Like any of my 4bys was modified though, lent it to my ex and she sold it on me. Gee I was so happy about that little joke she played on me. That was the reason why I bought another landrover - she hates em so never asked to borrow it.

In fact talked my brother into buying one he used to be a jeep freek now a suzi convert. And if any one thinks I'm a traitor to the landy cause, suzis are better in sand at a much cheaper cost.

he runs 33 maxxis on it hardly leaves a footprint, usually drives it in 2wd in the sand its so good.

    Why fit them, well...

I only have the Lovells Springs (with OME Shocks that I will replace when they blow themselves apart - has happened to my friends).

I originally put OME 2" Lifted springs on my Disco to match the shocks but they were poor - Too firm, gave bump steer and I lost all my articulation that makes a Disco such an appealing choice to begin with.

I got a refund and then did some more research (in the archives of forums). After a lot of research I purchased the Lovells, installed them, went for a drive and a smile came on my face!!!

Lovells = Great ride on and off road, good articulation, good warranty.
I am a youth worker so I do my fair share of off road work too.

Perhaps my experience is of help PS: I'm a Newby too.

Blitz - RE: "camaraderie that there is between owners of them" I tell ya what, they're/we're a different breed... If a Disco owner parks theirs near mine at a supermarket it usually means pop the bonnet and lets have a look hey! Half an hour later on to the shopping - they're/we're all the same

Saved by the bell. I was going to suggest a thread quote some of the dinosaur's earlier and more embarrassing posts. Looks like the forum doesn't go back that far anymore.

    Here's one of mine.

Ill add some tech so we dont get moved.
Hey Chosen, when you ordered your OME springs what did you ask for, EG soft, med, heavey duty. Did you mention you had a winch bar and would be fitting a winch. Also which end felt to hard/firm or was it both ends.
I ask because I have a winch bar and my Disco sits nose down, but one day I will fit a winch. Adding the winch will just about sit it on the bumpstops so Ill need to order springs aswell. Your feed back will be most appreciated.

About Zooks, yeh heaps of fun. I can take it out and drive it hard and if it breaks its easy to fix (small parts = light easy to lift) No complicated ECU's. I have a winch on it so I can venture out on my own and get out of most things. Most fun in a Zook is going out with other Zooks. No egos to bruise in respect to other makes.
It was through the Zook that I found "Outerlimits" forum who inturn put me on to AULRO when I got the Disco.
Im getting heaps of info here, and the search has always been my friend. I got to know alot of people here before I posted. Im on Hol's at the moment and with the weather the way it is, Ive got way to much spare time.
