Generally speaking - not necessarily - but a variety of fittings have been used for both, so it depends what you have!

I have defender doors on it, but i think they are easy to break into compared to the series locks, just have to pull out the bottom window rubber, and you can pull on the lock mechanism to unlock it., You can tell i lock my keys in the car alot can't you:(
Provided they aren't rusted up!
I suggest that if this aspect of security is of concern, it would be very easy to fit protrusions on the front edge of the door that engage the lip holding the seal when the door is shut and make it impossible to remove the door even if the hinges are removed.
For the back, it seems to me that a mesh cage could easily be fitted to the hood bows to make casual access impossible - the mesh at the back could be arranged to not open unless the tailgate was opened - and the latches on the tailgate lend themselves to the fitting of padlocks.

The security side of things dose not really bother me. I will probably make a hard cover lid for the tray, then I can hinge it at the cab end and turn it into a pop up tent.
