I don't run mine on the auto setting as it does sound like a 747 taking off.

I just have the fan on 1 or 2 constantly and set the temp manually.

It could be that a piece of paper or other cab detritus has been sucked into the fan wheel & is fouling as it spins.

On the 95MY D1 the fan simply drops out from under the dash. Don't know about D2 but can't see why Rover would make it hard to do. Yeah, right.

ha ha, Yes, and try Syncronising the Props, cuts down on the noise in a Cessna twin.
