Turbo cars run lower compression than a N/A car, so you'd need to change the pistons as well (at the least) maybe the head as well.

Modern normally aspirated cars run with compression ratio's of about 10:1. Turbo cars are much lower at around mid 8:1 C/R's.

Get the whole motor and bang that in.

In fact.... did a quick look, added a bit of cut and paste, quick upload and here you go:

480Nm @ 2000 rpm !! Plus 245Kw from a 4.0 litre straight 6, nice. The old 250 really has come along. What a shame they won't be making it for much longer

    My xr6t has 334rwkw at 3800rpm and 1000nm's from aporx 3000rpm to 5800 rpm.....

I reckon the boost response from the garret hairdryer thats on a xr6t/fpv typhoon when fitted to a rangin 4.6ltr would be amazing

    Close...
The 240T was a B23 bored to 2.5 and the head was non Std....
30psi was correct with a Truck intercooler and Water injection....

That exact car is in NSW still racing in club class.... it is about 450hp... but unreliable...

you'll also need a different auto transmission

the turbo 6's and V8's have a stronger planetary gearset, some different bearings and clutch components to cope with the extra torque

I'll say! I was overtaken by an XR6t when they were new and the acceleration and fighting for traction was cool to watch. We were doing about 80k at the time...

After some how getting a cracking inlet manifold on a standard 3.5 with SU carbs the old RR was converted to run forced induction via a Holley 250 on top of a Toyota SC then pumped though a guttered EFI throttle body and manifold. Boost was set to 8psi initially and now runs 4psi.
No engine mods (other than 25 year old motor). Took about 10 months to get it right and is now a very reliable vehicle. Besides the great take off the biggest improvement was the torque. The RR has an automatic transmission conversion (pre production release) and always lagged in power due to having to turn the auto and 33inch rubber.
There is never a lack of power under all situations, from idle to full throttle, it is unstoppable.

Back to the original RR P38 concept

Hi all, newbie here (although I have had 2 RR in teh past - 85 & 89)

I'm in teh market for one of teh last P38's (2002) and will be doing a handfull of mods - including supercharging.

A place in the US (Special Vehicle Concepts) makes a kit for the 4.6 (or 4.0 for that matter) that is suppoised to be complete and DIY-able.

There isnt much info on thier website, so I have asked for more - inc co$$$$ts, and I'll post here as soon as I have them.

I have found this picture though (cant see if it keeps tha A/C or not), but it looks like a really neat and professional job, and avoids all the probles of different cylinder loadings.

    Any comments

Also, for those Freelander (V6) owners out there, Sprintex in Perth makes a kit for the MG ZT / Rover 75), which I believe is the same engine as the Freelander. Might be of interest as Sprintex has a bloody good reputation.
