Anyone used a Detroit (Eaton) TrueTrac?

Q1. - don't know. I've never had just a front LSD.

Q2. - tru trac is torque biasing. Torque to wheel with traction can be about 3 times traction at the other wheel.

So good even if low traction on one wheel, but not as good as selectable lockers. The trick if you lift a wheel, is to dab the brakes with your left foot - that will usually get you past that point.

Q3. - don't know much about no spins and have never had one.

I have tru trac f&r on my disco - because I wanted stronger diffs, wanted to try them and didn't need selectable lockers for the intended use.

ARB lockers f&r on the rangie - because they were about the only selectable locker I could get for the diffs I'm using.

Manual lockers f&r on the bushie - because they were factory fitted to the diffs I'm using (originally vacuum operated, but converting to cable).

No, not yet.

Because I have other vehicles that are locked f&r and more capable in other ways, the disco is/was never intended for the hard trips.

The truetracs have performed well on medium trips. They are good on road (wet, dry or loose). Off road they leave you free to concentrate on driving. I haven't had any dramas on slippery side slopes, which was my biggest concern before I bought them.

I was told that they guarantee at least 45% dive to either wheel. Is that not correct?
I was also told about the touching the brake bit and this would effectively lock the thing.

I have the true trac in the front of mine plus detroit locker in the rear makes a big difference off road and with the traction control the true tracks work great no reason not to fit them front and rear better on road manners

technically, a No-Spin is the same as a Detroit Locker, just doesn't use a complete, seperate hemisphere. http://www.locked-drive.com.au/nospin.jpg
Because the Sals is so beefy and uses a 4 pinion centre you only need replace the guts, not the whole hemisphere as with, say a Detroit Locker in a Rover diff.http://www.locked-drive.com.au/detroit.gif
The No-Spin name is usually applied to truck applications and Detroit Locker to complete centre replacements.

I believe the cheapest supplier is the importer, Locked Drive Systems,
