Blown #3 fuse, replaced immediately blew again,
When Hazard lights activated.
Now have no indicators or hazards.
Where is the flasher unit on a Defender (98)
Has anyone else had a same problem?

Hi dirtydawg,I had the same problem a few months ago,I found it was a faulty hazard light switch !!!!,when I went to take it out ,it fell a part in my hand, replaced the switch......all ok now

Hmmm has it got trailer wiring? Often the fault can be where the accessory trailer wiring loom has been run.
To help finding shorts...build a short light. Get a globe and holder (I use H4 headlight globes because they're easy to see.) Wire up the globe (with 2 wires) with a side of a cut split pin soldered onto each wire. Install the split pin into each side of where the fuse normally goes. If the short is present the globe with be really bright and burning your eyes! Now you can go through and wiggle test/un-plug components. The light will dim when the short is gone.
Have fun!

On my ,94, it's behind the fuse panel in front of gear levers (Take off plastic cover, then undo two screws holding panel to bulkhead and pull whole lot forward).
Sounds like a short in the wiring though...can you make it blow with just indicators on either left or right side, or just with the hazards on?
I have a spare relay, BTW, as I changed mine to get a lower current one for the LED lighting...
