Checked and on the main body is a stamped triangle and on the yoke is a small nipple. This makes it out of phase by approx 45*. Lucky for me Hardy Spicer knew what they where doing.
Can I confirm that on the front propshaft that the slip-yoke is at the transfer case end? With it this way round water can run down into the splines. The rear propshaft slip yoke is at the transfer end but that is built differently and water will drain out of the splines.
Thanks.[/QUOTE]
on all the landies i have ever worked on, own the workshop manuals for or the EMEI's to the slip joint always goes closest to the TCase on both sides....
In the case of the 6x6 the rearmost slip joint goes closest to the support bearing..
the reason for this is the amount of movement at the yoke theres less movement nearer the tcase so less stress is placed on the slip joint.

yes but the ADF doesnt have the D2 so they dont have the EMEIs, I never owned one so never bought the manuals and frankly think as most of them have autos and rely too much on electrogimmikry and have carperts that they are somewhat girly and havent had to work on them.... yet...![]()

This Paul caused me some greif when I installed a double cardan ubi to my Fender..old one came off slip joint TC end..New one (DC) slip joint diff end..Me thinks at the time this cant be right..2 phone calls later and I was satisfied all was ok... except in gear at slow speeds there is a slight noise like ting ting ting, depress clutch or go Neutral it stops instantly..cant find what it is on visual inspection..I guess I will have to wait n see what breaks![]()
