yep your probably right, all I'm saying is it's enough Mick's D2 is a credit to him and Lokka, it is awesome offroad, and great on road. It handles any track thrown at it with ease and it has not got a 4 inch lift. I'll be sad to see that car go.
What you and Slunnie have done to obtain a 4 inch lift is just short of incredible, honestly though do you think the extra inch was worth all the hassle and expense?
Not the GU fronts, its the GU rears that you would use. IF they're charging $660pr I'd ask him to try again with another number. They were about $400pr when I bought them.
Also, the B46-1361 will be a real PITA to fit to the front due to the rose (heim) joints , the rears are ok (I run these on the rear and have had them revalved and the mounts cut off and replaced with rubber ones!$!$!$)
Steve is the man that I've always delt with there (apart from the valving man), he's very good and prefers to chat face to face.
Its an extra 2". From my perspective yes it was worthwhile, but I use and abuse my truck for everything that its worth. For probably 99% of D2 owners I would say that it is not worth the hassle and expense.
I started at 2" and it wasn't enough. I could spend $1000 - $1500 on fitting a suspension setup that gives me a 30-50mm lift, but when you look at how much that is on a ruler, for offroading at least (it does have huge comfort and load carrying value) I thought that it was a waste. Double it and now we're talking. 4" was as much as I could get out of this thing sensibly and legally and when I've got the 35's on then there is not much that is stopping it. Thats what I like, and so for me it is worthwhile. But, like everything, what 1 person is into, there will be many others that don't see value in it.
whats the total length of your shock extended and compress slunnie
The 6100's (B46-1361) are 25.82" (655mm) open and 15.79" (401mm) closed. They're actually a fraction larger now that the rose joints have been replaced with rubber bushes. The Patrol rears (F4-B46-1267-HO) are just ever so slightly shorter, though I don't have the measurements for them.
