cause thats just WAAAY to close to sydney for my liking...
I picked up my 4.6 V8 engine this arvo from Davis Performance Landys. :)
Work done:
Old liners removed, new top-hat liners installed
High Compression pistons fitted.
One conrod replaced
Crankshaft replaced (exchange)
Hub aligner
New big end bearings
New main bearings
New camshaft bearings
New high torque cam
New lifters
Replace welch plugs
Modify oil pump
New flywheel/driveplate and flexplate
Balance engine (internal, not external as done by LR)
Flow check injectors, new o-rings, replace injector filters
Open up valve ports
De-shroud valve guides
Port cylinder heads
Port-match heads to match inlet manifold and exhaust manifolds
Replace valve guides
Replace exhaust valves
Flow cylinder heads
Fit standard head bolts, not stretch bolts....
..... and assemble engine
Lemme see, was there anything else? Probably.
Now to install it next week.

yeah how much Ron? The way things are going (mines just hit 175k's and steams from the oil filler with an acetone smell) when mines due for a new donk probably sometime next year it will be far cheaper to buy another P38 that goes and use mine for spare parts :(
I've paid $5K so far....

When you see someone at Davis Performance, can you ask them what they think about the "head studs".
I have been told that you can get a head stud kit. So instead of using bolts, you put studs into the block and then tighten down the heads with nuts. Apparently it gives a much more even pressure and less likely to cause a leak from an overtightened/undertightened bolt.
Thats what I have been told anyway.
