Wipper Snipper motor wont go !!

We strip these by the class load. The motors that we buy in are bought as throw outs. What we find is that for most of them either the piston has been seized from running no oil in the fuel, or what I would bet you have, and that is a stuck carby. Defenderzook is right on the money. Strip the carby at least and unstick everything - preferably replace all of the gasket valves is you really love the edger and put the carby back together and once you tune it again it'll be sweet.


But, never ever leave fuel to go stale in a two stroke carby.

Yer if come outta the fuel line by itself. but as soon as i put it on the carby it goes down the line a lil bit and wont work its way up into the carby. and yer the mix is 25:1

what everyone says,
i got a husqvarna, blower that wouldn't go unless the choke was full on, then left on
took it to the local 2 stroke expert bloke, a simple problem he told me and something we all do , the diaphram in the carbi.
in the whipper snippers and the like, they act like the fuel pump sucking the fuel up, when they go on a bit and have had stale fuel left in them, they go hard and don't suck as well.

After having mine repaired
new diaphram and the like, his advice was, each time you use it, make sure you run it dry before you put it away and there will be no problems.
i have no reason to discount what he says, he is the major repairer in this area.

The oil doesn't even have to dry out - the passages in the carburetter are so small on these little engines that just the oil will block them. You'd think the fresh fuel mix would dissolve it, and it probably will, eventually, but it will take a lot longer than you want to wait - by which time the fresh fuel is likely to have evaporated! From experience I have adopted the practice of always running the whippersnipper dry before putting it away!
(I know I am going to have trouble though - its over a year since I have needed to use it!)
