    On my DI I run the wiring beside that which LR laid (between the roof & headlining). If LR went to that trouble, I think that I should too.

    Run it along the chassis rail and come up into the cavity behind the tail lights, i have my wires to my auxiliary cig lighter plugs routed that way.

    The D2 in our family has the battery in near the turbo...
    4 years old and going strong....

    Turbo and heat shield is not that hot compared to tests on V8... The V8 heats up a lot more!

    Steve...my 2nd battery is in the engine bay at the back on the passenger side , far enough away from the turbo to not be an issue with heat..our friends at CMW in Mitchell put a new tray and battery in for me when they did my head gasket work..using a Rotronics 'Weekender' controller..this was fitted by the previous owner..i'll take some pics and email to you..

    Steve..Here's some pics of my 2nd battery install..new tray and battery was about $300..

    Yes...they got the battery and tray from someone else in Mitchell..but put in for me when they had it all in bits for the head gasket work...
