That is one thing I was wondering about also. Do you know the output of the Land Rover fans? Each Davies Craig fan puts out between 200 and 300 litres/s which I thought should be sufficient.

is it possible to just use small alloy arms instead of a whole bracket?
By arms I mean 10mm + wide strips of 2-3mm alloy with bolt holes either end......ie one for the fan and the other for the condenser bolt?:)
You should have no problems using this method as long as the strap is around the 2mm or 3mm mark as there is not a whole lot of room in there. There is a brace in front of each fan and I had to slightly bend this to stop it from rubbing on the new fans.
Just for the record , a 1985 Mercedes280SE , I think 18 or 20 inch fan will fit in an 81RRC with a bit of persuasion.
And boy do they blow some air.
In Saudi the genuine Bosch were cheap but probably expensive here.

Well I got them both on....without any big problems :D.
As it turned out I used one factory hole/bracket and used a 60mm x 10mm x 2mm alum arm for the other top hole.
The lower holes were more of a issue :(, the outer cage/cover is about 15-20mm bigger than the LR fans, eventhoguh I got 10 inch fans.
I sat ther trying to work out how to fix the bottom part of the fan for a while because there isnt anything to bolt or screw it to , so I used some big **** nylon ties from fan to air con dryer thingo pipes to hold in place ......sounds a bit rough I know but they are very easy to get to and I will replace them when I do the oil change etc...;)... they are not moving at all, so that will do for now. :)
All working well, but after I put it all back together the right fan is just touching something on start up and when shutting down....(but not when running) but only a slight touch, I guess it will "wear" in
Have you got any photos Amshaw as I'm keen to see how you went about your install.
Dan
Ok, here is the link to the pics to my fan install, no big deal though :) http://www.flickr.com/photos/11418598@N08/
I also stoped the tap tap tap tap etc, I just spaced out one bolt so the fan was running a little more square ;)
