Turbo hoses look OK. I took them off and all looks OK
Have disconnected EGR.
Still drives like a bunny rabbit.
Got it book in with the dealer here for Turdsday. I can feel some hip pocket pain comming on.

grab your rave cd, work out which is the highest pressure line out of the fuel pump and hook up a pressure gauge to that you should see 60psi ish there. But im begining to think that with all the other stuff that youve done or checked that its turbo related. Check the wastegate actuator by having someone rev the biscuts out of it (or gradually wind on 16psi of air from a compressor via a regulator valve) while you watch the wastegate valve. if its cracking open while your freespinning the motor theres part of your answer.
Also you might want to take the EGR out of the system and clean it out. I was down on power in the top end (not as much as you but enough that I was starting to ask questions) and as part of my last service I pulled it and it was sticking in the open position so at no time was I getting a full charge of clean air

I have cleaned MAF and disconnected EGR, but no real change.
I have noticed though that the longer I drive it the less bunny hoppimg it does, but still very gutless when I put my foot down
I had similar issues on my TD5, initial problem was the wastegate modulator allowing overboost situation which induced the pulsing as the overboost sensor shut the fuel supply down. Also wastegate modulator was intermittantly opening also allowing the wastegate to open at less than optimal boost leading to it being gutless under any load ( read flat out at 110 on a flat road ).
When the wastegate modulator was relpaced it was also discovered that the boost sensor was not within operating specs potentially due to excessive boost damaging it.
All up a couple of hundered dollars fixed it.

Does it surge at about 3200 rpm?
Disconnect the MAF plug, go for a drive and floor it. The ECU will use a set of default MAF settings and you should go like a rocket ship without the surge (Keep an eye on the tacho).
If this is the case check the wiring loom from the MAF and Ambient Air Pressure sensors has not melted onto the air cond compressor.
If it has not then buy a new MAF sensor. $300 to $350.
I had a sick Mass Airflow Meter causing surge. The two wires were brown in colour and when I went to clean it, they fell to pieces. I have 82,000 klms on my TD5.
Also if the fuel pressure regulator is tired it will compound a bad MAF problem.
The dealer diagnostic setup (Testbook) will not pickup a bad MAF and logs no faults.

Well the problem mysteriosly went away on Sunday, cam back yesteday and went away this morning as I brought it to the stealer. On the way back it did it again as a once off.
I pulled fuel pump out check fuel and pump. All looked OK.
Dealer did not come up with any related faults, but did tell me there was oil in the injector wiring loom.
Sounds like it could be the cause of the problem???
How hard to replace these ones self. Is it much a matter of taking off the tappet cover. Anything difficult about it?
This will be the second one injector wiring loom
