Thats about 72psi right?
I seem to recall that there was a thread too that mentioned that the running pressure was only around 30-40 psi.
I got a hose that has a leak and was thinking of a hose clamp repair rather than a pirtek jobbie.

I always ask twice since sometimes the 2nd answer is different! :D
Also I coudn't remember whether it was for a different model and we all know how factories love to change things!
Last thing I would want to do is hose clamp something that's just gunna blow.;)

Just an update on the EL Ford radiator that was put into my '93 Disco'.
It's still running great but I now have the part no's etc., for the fittings needed to fit the Landrover 3/8" BSPT oil line fittings, onto the EL Ford 1/4 NPT fitting.
Go to Pirtek and their part number is 701029-0604. It is $3.69 + gst and is a brass fitting. You'll need 2 of them.
I will post the final pics on my link site http://www.comcen.com.au/~frontier as soon as I can so that you can see the rubber mounts that I made for the bottom as well as the other fittings.
All up it was $130 for the brand new radiator(including delivery to my door by courier), $8.10 for additional line fittings from Pirtek and I guess about $5 worth of steel bent into the right shape for the top radiator mounts.
Say $150 all up. Not a bad saving on comparison to either a new aftermarket radiator for $750 or a recore for $553.
Having all the parts ready, I guess it would take about 4 hours.
Hope this helps someone in the future.
ok pics of hobies block, the worst of it the best of it are in my camera...
IVe just quickly tried to scale them but they loose too much detail in the process for me to post them full size to the forum.
For those interested I'll put them into a HTML doc and zip them up for email distribution..
Thats a tomorrow day job.
conveniently my email addy is my aulro forum nick on a gmail account

Im not making the mistake of putting my email addy in a spider searchable forum again... If you cant work out my email addy from that pm me.
Hi All,
Just got back earlier today from my trip down to Melbourne and back ( about 2000k's ).
First the EL Ford radiator went great, only occassionally went over halfway and only on some of those insane hills on the other side of Yass. I was towing approx. 550kg in the trailer and another 200kg in the car itself not including me.
With the fuel my best tank got me over 5.8k's per liter or about 21 liters per 100k's.
I will admit that I was a bit heavy on the throttle (perhaps around 130) but not in VIC 'cos of their no advance warning speed camera signs!:D
7 tank fills and I guess the average price was about 54.9cents per liter although there was one servo where it was 69cents!!
Anyway, I recall that Philip was getting much better mileage than mine so perhaps I will need to look into this further. Thoughts Philip or Dave?
Oh Dave, I sent you an email per your gmail address but never got those pics from you....
Final comment..What is it with those damn trams!!
Cheers,
Pete'
Im having a seniors moment and cant recall if i announced that I have the pics of the engine.. putting them on the forum robs them of too much detail and I dont have an offsite account anywhere else to put them...
frontiers onto me about them but at 10+mb for some reason his mail daemon is killing my cant send them zipped nor as individual jpgs.
all i get is pages of sponsored links and popunder advertising.
Even better :)
