How to stop sliding windows in the Defender from rattling.

All the felt in my back sliding windows of the Defender has basically reach its end of life. I was going down the track of new felt, but as I did such a good job of replacing the rivets in the windows and sikaflexing them back in as well as rivetting when I had them out, I thought this was going to be a nightmare job to remove windows just for the felt.

Anyway I hit on a great solution and it worked all the way to Katherine and back last weekend. Ear plugs! Yep, those squishy foam plugs you roll up and stick in your ears to deaden the noise (e.g. in the Defender cab or on an industiral site). Roll up and gently slide in to the channel between the glass and the frame every few inches using the edge of a thin piece of cardboard. I used the yellow EAR ones. The are a high density foam that will mold to a shape and stay there.

No more rattle, can - at a pinch - still use the windows, easily replaced

Weeds, I was heading down that track and working out what to order, but as I'm miles from any supplier I was also looking for a cheap alternative.
