Replaced my "P" Gasket 4 weeks ago...exactly the same symptoms you describe,leaking from the back of the pump on the left hand side.
Gasket cost about $12.
Got a quote for labor was 2hrs.

Did a mates water pump last tue's $101 posted from Karcraft.Did my P gasket a month ago $12 from All4x4.Do yourself a favour and replace the three long bolts to the block with cadnium plated ones.It is a LR upgrade and they don't rust in.Anti-sieze them on the thread and shank to make it easier next time. Pat
Book time for the job is 2hrs. I did mine on the forecourt outside BigJon's place and was almost bang on 2hrs. No drama about tightening the bolts, just do them like normal.Quote:

I'll probably fit it monday thanks for the tips guys, have been waiting for the engine to die or do something like this so I could fit a 4bd1t or LS1 on gas, but Haven't managed to source one at the right price so will fit the pump as the rest of the engine is fine just not enough NM's for a 130 dual cab. the 300tdi has only done about 275k just would love heaps more NM's for towing and long trip as I said. Anyway thanks everyone for the tips
