Resetting ABS light on a freelander

I was wondering how to reset the ABS light on a 98 freelander.

    Any idea why it's on?

Is there a blown fuse? Do you no if it's working (in a safe spot on some gravel let it skid and listen/feel for the GRRRR sound)?

    Is the vehicle running?
Have you pressed the fuel inertia switch reset button (not sure where it is, under the bonnet on firewall usually).

Shut and lock doors then then reopen...

Lastly try diconnecting bat then after a few mins re-connecting.

The ABS light automatically comes on when the ignition comes on this is the default position - it only switches off when the ABS computer receives appropriate signal from the sensors - 5kph or the ignition is switched of. So if the light stays on there is a fault because the computer has not received (or continues to receive) signals from all the sensors.

To actually answer your question simply switching off the ignition should reset the computer - if the light stays on after 5kph there is a fault.
