Big power+Big Boost=Big Bangs that cost Big $$$$$$
What is that your implying Dougal ??????:o
My Disco does a hell of lot more than what it was designed to do, goes 4wding a fair bit more than a lot on here and costs me very little in repairs and nothing has ever gone wrong with the engine in 295000 odd ks.
There is a lot to be said about how adventurous one should be and in what way, as in, it would be extremely exciting to jump from an aeroplane with a parashute but imagine the addraline rush jumping without 1.
Adventurous but not recomended.
Honestly don't know.
I'd rather use either a TD04 Mitsubishi, (MTQ over here do a kit using this) or a VNT off the 2.8HS to increase efficiency and boost earlier in the range rather than maximum boost.
Not sure how much the bottom end would take either. The crank is cast.......
On mine the fuel is wound right up already, (have to lift slightly on some hills to stop exceeding 720*) Either a water spray or better I/C would help there, but I'm pretty happy with how it goes, and it dumps through a 3" pipe. It's a work truck and fully loaded it doesn't do worse than 12l/100km and it absolutely hoses our unladen (stock) TD42T Patrol.
