    Stromberg ahead!

Hi all, have bought a second hand stromberg for the old girl (76' S3 109), put on with a bit of filing to the mounting holes, but works a treat, just have'nt sorted the the throttle linkage yet, am working on that as we speak, also, am welding up a dual wheel carrier for the rear, it's a 'swinging gate' style arrangement, both sides, should have some pics soon, watch this space. Take care on the roads, it's slippery out there!

    Good stuff Ben.
Has it got the vairiable main jet??? If not get one as you can fine tune better.
Make sure you get some good instructions on tuning, when I had mine I had it too lean and ended up burning an exhaust valve.
    Goodluck

Hi LandyAndy, will pick up variable main jet this week, and your right about burning a valve, I thought it was running a bit rough a couple of months ago, took the head off, and yes,a burnt valve, it had also perished the head gasket between the pushrod gallery, and started to burn oil, causing a smoke screen James Bond would be proud of! Alls well now though, cheers, Ben.
