Also the turbo bearing make a hell of a noise when they are going
The pic. shows the turbo oil drainpipe, be interesting to know if there is a way for exhaust gases to leak into that pipe.

i`m still waiting on a decent pressure test to be done, maybe that puts some light on this strange behavior.

it doesn't help not to be able to look at the car and the work that has been done.

    cheers Richard

sort of the tdi has a seperator type of device to seperate the oil from the fumes oil back to the sump fumes back to inlet pipeing.

Normal start with the 4th and work back
4th most of the time is the one that goes. Main reason as it has the least of amout of cooling of the lot of them . Not much air though and by the time the water gets to it it is getting warmer

Did a 500km round trip to my customer yesterdy. had a good look at the work did.

    Mystery solved.
What my customer was calling water in the engine oil was a bit of condensation coming out of the crank vent hose, no wonder by -10°.
The crankcase pressure he was talking about ?
There was no pressure at all at the oil filler cap, but my customer demonstrated the pressure this engine is producing by blocking the crank vent hose of, that pushed a little bit of oil out of the dipstick tube.
The only thing i could see wrong is a tiny bit of oil in the exhaust ports, maybe the rings are sticking a bit, we had the engine in storage for a while.

Customer is still not quite convinced that there is nothing wrong with this tdi, he insists on fitting new rings. guess i get him a box of new rings, bearings and a head gasket kit for christmas.

Thanks to all of you, have a nice weekend
