    Play in Front output Bearing

In my regular underbody inspection i noticed i have slight play (less than 1mm of movement) in the main bearing in the front output housing of my transfer case (LT230). Is this something i should be concerned about or is this common.
I undid the bolts on the drive shaft and checked for any play or roughness in the D-Cardan joint, all seems fine there, i also checked the main nut securing the flange to the TC shaft, not loose at all.
I have not noticed any noise from the TC but have developed a slight leak from the inspection plate just below the CDL spigot on the side of the front output housing.
Should i be concerned about the play in the bearing or only if it gets worse?

Only worry if it gets worse, slight play is normal, lots of play stuffs the seal and makes it leak.

    No leak = No worry

What i'm not happy about is that i can't get the inspection plate off the side of the housing without pulling the entire front output housing out Due to not being able to get 1 bolt out at the top that hits the transmission housing before it's entirely undone
Its developed an annoying leak from the bottom of the plate that seems to be getting worse.

If you unscrew that bolt as far as it will go and remove the others will you have enough room to clean the plate and apply silicon sealant?

Maybe cut the bolt in half and then wind it out. Replace it with a shorter one?

Was considering this but space is a bit limited.

Considering winding it out slightly and cutting the head off to turn it into a stud, replace head with a nut and hopefully job done. Way too much work removing housing just for 1 oil leak.
