Disco 2 - Urgent Help Suspension-I Stuffed Up

I have a Disco 2, 2002. Air bag suspension on rear. Purchased Dobinsons 2" suspension lift shocks and springs for non air bag suspension Disco. Fitted front shocks and springs. Fitted rear shocks. Mechanic used computer to raise air bags 20mm.
Disco is now slightly down at rear, compared to front and need to lift rear another 20mm.
What do I do?? Are there spacers for rear air bags, if so where can I purchase them. Or do I remove the airbags and install purchased springs. If I remove air bags can I turn these off on the computer chip without any consequence.
Any help and advice most welcome
    Thanks

    Hi Chicko,
    The two options are:
    1. Remove air springs and compressor, get extra mounting bits from Landrover and fit the coil springs you bought. Take Disco to Dealer or sevice place with computer that talks to Disco and tell the ABS/SLS ECU that you have coil suspension on the back.

    2. Purchase 50mm lift kit for SLS rear end which should comprise of extended brake line and bump stop, sensor mounts and spacers for the air springs. Several places sell the kit. I know 4x4 intelligence sell it.

Take your pick. I have SLS on the back of mine but faced with your prediciment I would tend to go towards the spring fitment as you have no compressor or air bag to replace when it fails and you have already bought the springs.

I am sure that there would probably be some potential buyers of your air bags and compressor as well to help offset your conversion price.

Hmmm. Raised front 50mm, raised back 20mm. Might perhaps have been better planned? But you've worked that out by now.

Surely another option would be to sell the springs, buy new 1 inch raise on the front? If 2 inches definitely required, see previous posts.

While you sort out your problem you could raise the rear by putting an appropriately sized spacer in the height sensor arm - you will do this with the SLS lift kit anyway. This will mean your air bags will be running at a higher than standard pressure but not much and no more than in the extended mode.

I'd go the SLS lift kit and keep the advantages of the air bags.

Beware of stretching the airbags past their limit due to the longer shocks as the ends pull off the airbags - ask Walker what sand suspension is like.

I have the 4x4 intelligence SLS lift kit it is great.

If you decide to go coils I would like to purchase your compressor.

    Cheers
