Yep I agree they need a 6th gear.

Would swaping the Defender ratio into my D2 help re gear mine back towards standard to compensate for my 235/85x16 tyres?????

Graz, I have fitted the GKN Overdrive (imported from UK, cost around $3.5k). Makes a huge difference - drops RPM to around 2150 @ 110 km/h. Big reduction in noise. Haven't noticed a big change in fuel consumption, but with my truck it alwasys seems to return ~12l/100 no matter what.

Just I have only seen mention of TDI's being converted.
