Mine was doing exactly the same thing, Got the soapy water thing done and lo and behold a porous airbag. My Disco is a '99 model and had done 280,000km before it played up. I ended up replacing the airbag with a Dunlop one from Airbag man (he was the cheapest one I could find, and no I don't have any affiliation with him) and after receiving it 10mins later it was all fixed Oh and $385.00 as well.

Hi Nicky,
You are losing a lot of air out of the SLS system for both sides to go down. I had a slow leak on the fitting on top of the airbag on the drivers side that made it list to right hand side overnight.
You need to as the guys said give it the soapy water treatment over both airbags first but wait for a while to see results. Leaks will be identified by lots and lots of tiny foam bubles. Pump the system right up with the dash button and then turn off the motor before you spray.
Next move to the air line connectors and air valves in the compressor box if no joy at the air bag end. There are two fasteners on the cover for the compressor box which is located under the Disco on the passenger side. Give them the soapy water treatment as well and look for a leak.
Hose off the soap off the air bags and spray just water over the the air valves and connectors when finished. The sticky soap mixture will attract dust and dirt big time if left on.
See how you go with that for starters. How many klms on the Discovery?

My TD5 has done only 65,000 klms. I'm suspecting a connector leak, as it
only drops infrequently. Surely a split or leaking airbag woul do it aii the time.
I suspect you could be right but it could still be a leaky bag. Pay special attention to the connectors on top of the air bags and where the lines connect to the air valves inside the compressor box.
You may also have a dodgy air valve or an electrical connector in the compressor box.

Might also be an idea to check the sls sensors for any damage or loose fittings. Also i found on my D2 that even though i only had a leak on one side the the other non-leaking airbag was automatically deflated to level the vehicle. Not a nice surprise to walk out in the morning and find your D2 sitting on it's haunches:o

I have just replaced he compressor and a left hand rear bag.
a couple of points as indicated and from what I experienced.
1/is the compressor running once key and engine are out and off?
2/does the car lift intermittantly and then deflats again
3,Whats the ride like, a bit sloppy at times,

If compressor still running, take out 5th fuse from engine bay fuse box and leave out, then take it to your Landy Man.Compressor surely shagged
If car deflates intermittantly, bag for sure or bags, installed for 1 was $900.00 smackers.
If ride is sloppy, mor than likely bot,
Compressor and $1280 fitted by Land Rover and as indicated above for bag, bag is about $380.00 each, if you a techno youll be able to do yourself.
Points.
A smalll stone can lodge itself next to the bag and rub away for some time and will eventually break through.But the compressor is working overtime and will shag itself very quickly.
Get to it quickly to save your compressor

the extra air pressure needed to raise the vehicle may be helping to seal the leak unlikely to be the valve itself as to lower the bags there is two valves needed the one at the front of the box with three hoses going to it and the one valve that is inside the compressor dryier box assembly
