Frenchie,
Have you fitted one before? It is a lot easier to remove the clutch pedal box and do it on the bench/ floor/ patch of grass etc.
On a Td5 equipped 'fender, you will probably have to drop down the RH end of the A/C unit to reach the top two bolts on the clutch pedal box. I have got away without doing this ONLY on a LATER model, The A/C units are slightly different after 2004 I think...More room to reach under from memory.
All the Tdi ones are easier, you don't have to touch the A/C unit to reach the top bolts, just drop down the steel angle bracket by loosening the 3 or 4 phillips screwa holding it up to the dash bottom. The rubber underlay etc will then drop down easily too.
You will also have to remove/ move the coolant reservoir and some bracketry and pipework for the clutch etc to draw the pedal box out. It also helps to have someone in the vehicle guiding it out past the floor mats etc...
Enjoy.
