Certainly be looking at the relay and and wiring there. Do you know what generic brand the lights are ?

as per my message they are genuine LR
Latest in the saga with the response issue and wiper blades.
Spoke to dealership (Pacific Land Rover) about the wiper blades, they refused to replace them even though they were faulty from the time I took delivery of the LR. They stood by "Land Rover does not warrant wipers" Despite the fact that it is roadworthy item so how could it be roadworthy if the wiper blades were defective I retorted? Anyway they still refused.
So I fumed on this all week . . .
So today it went back to them so they could load yet another s/w patch that they got from UK via Sydney.
When I got these this morning I was really looking to chew some **** over this and not in the mood for their spin.
Again I pointed out about the wipers, again they refused. So I gave them a real blast in front of customers looking to buy a LR. I pointed to these idiots that a product has what is called "implied warranty" It derives from common law that a product must be , a) fit for purpose and b) must last a "reasonable" period of time. Reasonable has some interesting legal ramifications as does "fit for purpose"
I then pointed out the order of precedence as far as LR warranting items vis common law and implied warranty. I then put on my angry face  and proceeded to tell this guy I was **** well ****ed off and for them to sort my problem ASAP!
Got dropped off by the coutesy car at local shopping plaza, 2 1/2 hours later I'm picked up and taken back to delaership.
D3 is ready and "oh by the way LR service manager in Sydney said we could replace the wiper blades" mutter mutter.
Why is it you have to behave like a so and so before these damn delaership will take you seriously and fix the problem.
Anyway wipers replaced at their cost and now I am to drive around for a week and see if the new s/w makes a difference. It does seem to have more grunt but is still hesistant. They said the new learning programme will take a few days to bed in and learn our driving styles etc.
So on the 24th it goes to Austral Motors in Bris for them to double check all is good as LR head technical guru will be in town and wants to personally check it out.
Fingers crossed.
As they say sit back and you will be trodden on.
cheers

well have been driving it now for a couple of days, seems to be improved. Is it fixed? Not sure at this stage need to drive it a bit more about town with lots of stop start, pulling in and out of traffic. It does have pulling power though so whether the latest s/w has increased the common rail fuel pressure aor some other little trick is unknown. Hopefully it does not send fuel consumption through the roof.
The new wiper blades are 100 % improvement on the blades that were delivered with the vehicle.
Any of you guys who have had issues with the wiper blades stand your ground and insist they be replaced. There is now a clear precendent that has been set so they have no grounds to deny you.
Will post again after the 24th when it has been to Austral Motors for the once over.
cheers

ps just curious as to what kms people are getting out of their TDv6 discos? We were getting a bit over 600kms with mainly city cycle driving, meter says about 11.8 L/100 km but I suspect it is closer to about 12.2
highway if I keep speed to 100km/h it will drop right back to about 7.8
Steve, I took a short course on sand after buying my D3. We were told to start in normal road condition, the vehicle bogged straight down—hopeless! Disappointing as some of other vehicles although struggling seemed to getting through. But all done as part of the learning process. I was then told to reduce tyre pressures to 15 psi which worried me a bit given what the dealers had said about going too low with medium profile tyres (they recommended 20 psi), put terrain system into sand, left everything else alone. From that point on the vehicle took everything in its stride uphill and down, bends etc. At end of afternoon people wanted to know which vehicle the instructors (3) thought handled conditions best—they all said without a doubt it was the D3. 8 other vehicles including landcruiser, patrols, merc 320, pajero, forget the others. Good fun.
A mate of mine who doesn't use the AULRO returns the same figures as you for his TDV6 SE. I've harped on about this in various posts but for the huge price diff I'd expect the TDV6 to be a LOT better around town than the V6. 4l/100km diff is just not enough I think, to justify a 12k+ price diff.
have to agree, I'm surprised it does not get better fuel economy. If I push it up to 120 then it really gets bad.
Anyway it is what it is.
We dropped it at Austral Motors Brisbane this morning as they are going to drive and run some of their own tests for 2 days. They asked a few more probing questions as to what it was doing and asked if Pacific Landrover had ch3cked this and that. I did not think they had, and I do know they had not checked the turbo. Australa will be checking all of that and more so fingers crossed they can find a problem and fix it. Disconcerting to put the foot down to enter traffic and have the engine go into limbo land.
My feeling is from now on to go to Austral Motors for service instead of Pacific Landrover.
MR Automotive in Redcliffe is where I would recommend you go for servicing. They are LR specialists and will find items that no LR dealer will tell you about, that need fixing under warranty.
You don't have to take it to a dealer to maintain your warranty either. I know several people who have found their Discos perform significantly better following an MR service.
Best of luck with your D3 - I hope Austral can sort it all out for you. :)
7.8 ltr /100 k's @ 100kph ! - what do you want from a 2 1/2 ton mobile brick, that is better than a TDI.
