Thanks David,
I would like to order the full set of bearings and seals to do the job. I just wander if Keith's axles do not require different size bearings and seals. It would be better if we find out.
Cheers

I just received an email from Keith regarding bearings and seals needed for doing the job in a Disco I model 1998.
The reply reads:
[Quote] Your wheel bearings are what is called a"set 37" when bought as a complete unit (cone and cup)the individual parts should be an LM603011 (cup) LM603049 Cone. Use RTC3511 hub seal and get rid of the inner axle seal so your bearing run 'wet' with diff oil and they will last forever, grease them on installation though. However you should not need to remove the wheel bearings when replacing the axles. Being full floating in their design you need only to pull the road wheel to access the axle shaft. [Quote]
I hope that this info will be valuable for other members
Cheers
Exactly the same as my 85 RRC. I got my last wheel bearings from SKF, was half the price that the local landrover specialist wanted.Quote:

where are these axles comeing from are they goood?
When I got my TT from LDS I had to source my own carrier bearings. I got them from the local CBC, they weren't expensive. I didn't touch my pinion or my wheel bearings and they are still going fine (some 20 000km with the TT installed, at a guess, the odometer doesn't work).
Keith from USA makes them and they are heaps more strong than the genuine axles.
They cost U$A 450 for the pair.

i guess theres no australian option for axels and flanges anymore thats a shame
I have a mail in my inbox detailing what bearins would be needed.
the bearing shop can supply them in SKF and timken.
I'll look into costs if I order them in 2 lots of matched sets of 10.
you will need one of each "set" to completely redo an axle
set 1 will be diff carrier bearings (2 of)
set 2 will be hub axle bearings (4 of)
just quickly who might want what.
i thought they closed up
