Excellent bearing info people...removing inner axle seal so wheel bearings run 'wet' with diff oil is a tweak I have never heard of.......Chucaro those new axles your getting from Keith look mighty sweet....I take it Keith does not take Truetracs and Detroits out of the box and press carrier bearings into them.

For those that would like to change the pinion bearings the gear side Cone is a HM801436 the cup is a HM801310, the yoke side bearing cone is a HM88046 and the cup a HM88010. These are standard Timken numbers that any bearing house should be able to cross to the bearing they supply. The pinion seal is defferent over the years so be sure to tell your parts supplier the year of the diff you are working on. The earlier dust shield is sort of flat and the seal sits flush with the diff housing the later dust shield goes into the diff housing a bit so the bearing sits mor "inside the housing. the later seal works with both dust shields the early style does not.

For you hub seals use LR P/N RTC3511. this is a wet type seal and really keeps the muck out of the brearings as well as preventing leaks.
Just a quick note, more for the archives in the future. I'm in the process of sorting out new diff bearings for my standard 24 spline open front diff and 24 spline ARB locking rear.

The Timken gear side pinion cone bearing is actually supposed to be #HM801346X not #HM801436. Simple typo that I picked up dealing with a bearing place today. Also checked the Timken automotive aftermarket site and it reflects this.
