this apears to be a relatively easy option for me.
Wheel Billet Adapter Plates - HQ Holden to New Models - eBay Other Wheels, Tyres, Wheels, Tyres, Car Parts, Accessories, Cars, Bikes, Boats. (end time 25-Mar-08 13:23:19 AEDST)
my van has HQ drum brake hubs and the offset of the D2 wheel actually sits in a little too close to the inner wheel well of the van. the 30 mm spacer would sit my wheel exactly where it needs be. just drill the 12mm holes out and fit 14mm studs and i am set.
any comments ??
Sounds a good idea.
It's illegal on a car, but a van? Who would ever check?
But if you had an accident your insurance company could wipe you, unless it is passed by a State authority.Blah, blah blah.

Hopefully the Main Roads will start to check.
We in the Australian Caravan Club are pushing for more regulations and checks on Caravans.
Some Chassis/Axle/Wheel combinations are out right dangerous and the amount of times wheel studs crack and the wheels fall off, is far too common.
Unfortunately the Caravaning industry is not regulated enough, YET!!:)

so what are you saying Ron, i shouldnt go down that road ?
Mate,
There is no law against it.
Please make sure that it is passed by a mechanical engineer before you hit the road.
As you would know, the only contact between a towed vehicle and the tarmac is the wheels. I'd hate to hear of you and yours coming to grief due to wheel/axle failure.
Cheers,
Ron
thanks guys
