I was thinking of looking at them as well as I keep blowing the ones in the bar for some reason and the LED ones wont produce much heat.
Wondering whether or not to get the LED globes to put in the 2a . Has anyone tried them ? And are they worth the money ?![]()

Yep, change over to LEDs they are worth the extra money, i got sick of the bulbs always going on mine, I have not had to change one since i went to LEDs
Beware of cheaper globes, I have had excellent reliability with the units purchased from the auto electrician wholesaler but the cheaper one ones I got from Autobahn didn’t last long at all.

The led from E Bay are great i run them in the rangie and havent had any dramas BRIGHT LIGHT AUTO PARTS this is were they come from also got the alteza head light inserts and they work tops too![]()
yeah LEDs are quite good, but never really as bright as normal globes. I got mine from LED Light Bulbs, LED Auto Light Bulbs, Marine Replacement Bulbs Australia & Worldwide
Had to get some for my ARB bar to stop the trailer light coming on...worked a treat!!

dont put them in in place of all of the indicator bulbs unless you also switch the flasher can over to an electronic one. the draw is so low on them they wont blink properly. or you could just hang a 5w resistor off of the feed to one left and 1 right

While you are unlikely to get into trouble with it, you should be aware that, in general, replacing a filament bulb with a LED bulb is not legal. There are two reasons for this - one is simply the fact that the the light fitting is not approved when fitted with a LED bulb (since it was approved with a filament bulb, but the other is the rather more practical point that the light distribution will be different from that with a filament bulb. Filament bulbs give light more or less in all directions, whereas LEDs give highly directional light. For this reason you will often see cautions stating that replacement bulbs are for off road use only.
Of course, this does not apply to fittings designed for and approved with LEDs.

They would certainly not be legal, but they may work properly, it all depends on just how omnidirectional they are - it is difficult to see how anything with a reflector could be omnidirectional - and the design of the light itself.
For them to become legal, the light fitting would have to be submitted to Standards Australia (or an approved overseas body) fitted with that particular bulb, and, let's face it, that is just not going to happen, for the Series light fittings, or, for that matter, the fittings on almost any existing vehicle. The only alternative would be for Standards Australia to assess a particular LED bulb as equivalent to an incandescent one, a procedure that is highly unlikely, or perhaps a dispensation from the state transport authorities - slightly more likely, but still fairly unlikely.
One point worth mentioning is that I understand that even for purpose designed LED lights, white LED lights are not acceptable, because the "white" LEDs are not close enough to white.
What is fairly likely to happen is for purpose designed LED fittings to appear that are very similar to and interchangeable with Series lights.
