    120 into 130

I've had this one in mind since before I sold the 120 and bought the 130.

Kicked myself that I didn't do it.

Has anybody turned an 120 Isuzu into a dual cab 130 with a tray?

Any idea of the problems involved?

    Cheers
    Simon

Ahh, you'd just fit the Isuzu into the 130" and not tell anyone

Chassis extension is the killer, but considering the down right ****ful job LRA did extending it to a 120" in the first place, it couldn't be that hard do do a better job

I was just sorta thinking and hoping that you could get away with it and a longer hangover on the tray.

I'm assuming that the 120 is 120" and the 130 is 127". Just can't see that a 6'x6' tray hanging over the extra would be even noticed.

I'm wondering if the cab would fit in all the right places?

    Cheers

Once you weld on the rear outriggers for the cab it might fit

Perhaps be easier to start with a 110 wagon, and extend it, convert to dual cab?

Simon, Why not just fit the 130 with a 4BD1T and a LT95, some 33" tyres and voila, the perfect touring vehicle.

But, as mentioned, most states and ADR's etc will prohibit such a union

Johns idea seems reasonable but costly. It would be the only way to legally do it I believe. Use a already existing 110 Isuzu, mod its chassis and then use the defender 130 body etc. Seems silly I know as they haven't changed chassis etc for ever, but it is all about numbers on chassis....It would then become a 198* 130 CC.

You COULD actually apply to re chassis a 110 WITH a 130 chassis...and body...but at what point does it stop being the 198* county and become the 130 Defender???

We just fitted a 4BD1 and LT85 to a '95 130. It passed rego etc here because on paper it puts out less KW than the 300Tdi it replaced. It also blows heaps less particle emmisions but now it is turboed and intercooled will eat any Tdi for tea.Up any hill towing any load.

The Isuzu 110. Solid and as dependable as a rock, coming soon with auto box😊
The Range Rover L322 4.4.TTDV8 ....probably won't bother with the remap..😈

Thats what I would be doing, getting an early 130 and fitting a late 4BD1T , it should pass in Vic with that I would think but Im no expert there.
