    Donaldson Airfilters

I have been looking on the Donaldson website to see what filter I need for my 200 Tdi Disco.
I am finding their site pretty hard to navigate.
Can anybody give me a clue as to which filter I need please?

I think this is the one but someone else should know.

    Donaldson Toolbox PartNo: P776993

The 'toolbox' enables you to cross reference with original part no.
    Paul.

    77 series3 (sold)
    95 300Tdi Ute (sold)
    2003 XTREME Td5

I thought I was wrong once, but I was mistaken.

Why would you put an aftermarket filter in that costs more than Genuine and does not do the same job???

Talking to several LR mechanics that are independants and can get Finer filters, donaldson and K&N. All say the same thing... Genuine is better and cheaper.

    Only my opinion...

Just following the Air Filter Tests thread, I interpreted the results as to mean that the Donaldsons were the Ducks Guts in air filters.
Or am I better off just going into town and visiting Repco?

I interpreted the Coopers paper Filters as being the Ducks Nuts of the air Filter? may be I misinterepreted the study ?

Clarkie - I thought you read some of the info on here rather than just posting your opinions? Obviously not...

Hymie and Disco_Owner - I am definitely not trying to push any one brand, however, to summarise the tests I did:

The bottom line is that ANY cellulose fibre (paper) filter element should be more efficient than a oiled foam/cotton type filter. However as far as the tests went:

The Donaldson filter with 20k km worth of dust STILL had a lower pressure drop than the Coopers, and had a slightly higher filtration efficiency. Either of these filters would work fine (as would other paper filters from reputable manufacturers), however if I owned a Tdi, I would probably go for the donaldson.

Note that the donaldson still has plenty of life left in the filter after 20k km worth of use - even though Rick130 (who supplied the filter) lives in the country and would (I assume) drive a lot of dirt roads.

that filter saw at least 15km of dirt every day, some days up to 100km just using the beast for work.

Looking at the 1st Graph the paper cooper filters seemed to filter out smaller particles , so I took this as being a better filter, and Ben i never incinuated that you were pushng any brand , your effort and time spent doing this study is much appreciated.

    Great effort with the tests
The thing that really annoys me with modern filters (specifically coopers) is that if you give them 1 bump they get damaged badly in fact it only takes
a trip from Sydney to Karratha with a freight company to find that they are bent and dented the old ones (unipart or Donaldson) are stronger and dont get damaged as easily.
