Running the same tyre, purchased about 12 mths ago from BoB Jane I think, wasn't aware they were thinking of discontinuing that size. Could it be that a new Mud tyre is on the way??

Hi John;
I called and Spoke to Baulkham hills tyres again this afternoon , 245/75R/16 BFG muddies are no longer available , after I was told they were could get em in , Jax tyres found 2 @ a tyre place up at ipswitch qld but wanted $280 each plus shipment , so I think I'd go with 235/85R/16 BFG muddies instead.
Would anyone like to buy 2 x Brand new 245/75R/16 tyres?
I get around this problem.
You can land 5x 245/75-16 BFG AT's within 5 days + banking time into Sydney for about $1208AUD and then fitting. Works out to $240AUD/tyre + fit.
($149USD ea + $350USD shipping)
BFG Muds in 245/75 are $188USD ea.
I'm dealing through Tire Rack - Your performance experts for tires and wheels and currently waiting for a set of Pirelli ATR 285/75-16 to land because Pirelli wont bring them in in that size.... so I will.
Thanks for the info Simon
In that case I'd like to order 2 of the 245/75R/16 muddies from US ,if you haven't placed your order with them yet would you like to share cost of shipment so we can do an order at same time? let me know.
all i need is 2 x 245/75R/16 Muddies and i've got a complete set.
Ahhh, sorry. I've placed the order and confirmed it all this morning. Its already gone, but the BFG MT 245/s are on back order over there and wouldn't have made the same shipment.
ahhh ,in that case, as you said wouldn't have gone on same order , thanks anyway simon, But I'm seriously thinking about getting rid of the 2 brand new 245/75R/16's in garage and going taller hence 235/85R/16 and changing rear Diff to 4.11's , what are your thoughts on this ?
I think that for offroading the 235/85's will be good, better than the 245/75's, but the 245's would be nicer on the road. Max used to run 235/85's on his Disco1 and they went well. With the diffs, it will gear it slightly lower than standard with 235/85's (32's), these will put 33's back to standard gearing. Also, if you change the rear diff to 4.11's you will have to do the same to the front diff also. If you are looking at that 32" height, it may also be worth looking at the 265/75's also which are the same diamter but a little wider.
Hi Baz;
It does suffer quite a bit down low already with 245/75R/16, planning on chaging Diff Ratios to 4.11 F/R , and then go to the same size tyres as you're running on your D2.
I know Ashcroft supplies 4.11 diffs for Rovers but any idea who else
does as it as well ?
