    Air suspension

Am looking for someone in South East Qld that knows something about the air suspension on my '93 Rangie. I have had a new compressor installed but it still doesn't want to play the game. Any input appreciated, thanks.
Of course my next step will be to just put coils on but I thought after laying out that much on a compressor I would perservere with it just a bit longer.

    That's not very useful.

What lights are on the dash?

If it won't even inflate the bags then it sounds like a fairly serious air leak somewhere in the system.

Usual symptoms would be that it drops down over a period of time, indicating where the problem might be.

For eaxmple if its up and level and you park it on level ground overnight or for a few hours, usually you will find one corner or combination of corners has dropped down. From this you have somewhere to start looking.

The air is controlled through a valve block and after a time the rubber O rings inside the valve block need to be replaced so they control the various airflow directions correctly.

So the first question is - does the car raise up at all ?

If not, and you have replaced the compressor, then the next question is probably - how long does the compressor run before it cuts out. Is it a long time or onoy a few seconds. It is under the drivers door sill in case you didn't know.

Down at Cooma Blknight got a car back up off the stops by disconnecting the computer and jumpering the pins in the connector (under the driver's seat).

In this case the compressor wasn't pumping enough air so Dave filled the tank with his compressor then opened the valves in the valve block with the jumper wires.

The info is in the pages I linked above.

I note you had a new compressor installed. It's possible the EAS computer is in hard fault mode and will need to be reset.

    History

The person who installed the compressor, who we will call Harry said the system needed an ECU, and that he would order one, so here it is a week later and still no part, that is why I was asking if anyone knew of somewhere "reliable" in south east queensland.

    Regards,
    Mike
