Do you mean the Back seat?
the left part of the foldable rear backrest in my d2 is very noisy when its set-up. seems to be loose in its "locked" position. i have tried shoving a bit of foam behind it to stop the rocking back and forth, but it doesnt seem to help. is there a proper fix to remove the looseness? the right hand part is much better.
Do you mean the Back seat?
yeah. i thought that was how i had written it. left hand rear backrest. ialthough guess that could be taken as the 3rd row though. i mean the 2nd row.
thaks guys. awesome. helpful, etc.
i know you're just having a joke now, but please, if someone does have an answer to the initial post, it would be welcome and in the spirit of an online forum.
I'd be unbolting the back seat, greasing the springs and hinges and re installing
I know exactly what you mean I had this problem from new. The butchers at Austral wrapped electrical tape around the locking point on the floor which did work but as you can imagine not for long. There is a cam on the locking mechanism that can be adjusted, try that first.
cheers guys. i'll look into the floor mount. it does seem to only be the backrest though. the actual 'seat' of the rear-seat doesnt seem to have any looseness in it.
Do you have access to a Rave CD? If so have a look at Technical Bulletin number 0039 which covers this - involves washers and loctite, pretty lame approach.

yeah i have rave. thanks.
Is the D2 the same setup as D1 with pin on the side of the backrest and latch on the inner mudguard?
If so I just put a strip of self adhesive foam strip (from hardware on a roll) to the back of the seat pin to take up the slack where the pin rattled around in the latch like a **** in a sock.
I'll take a pic when I get home.
