Bit more info, year of Defender would help. But if all else fails get the VIN to a dealer and they can look the code up on the system.
Can anyone please tell me how to get the Standard Radio on a Defender
to work, after the battery has been disconnected/reconnected.
As I do not have the original code.
Thanking you in Advance, Col.

You may a need proof of ownership (of the vehicle) if you go to a dealer
I've got same problem with Disco radio code.
Tried two dealers -
First wanted all proof of ownership stuff ...... you know - mothers maiden name etc etc. plus vinNo. Then couldn't help as they had no record of the vehicle.
Second dealer (where vehicle was originally purchased) didn't want proof of ownership, only VIN No. He looked up details of vehicle but ....... you guessed it ........... no radio code. He said the radio must have been replaced at some stage - it's still an OE Landy radio though.
Next step remove radio (with 'special' tool made in about five mins from scraps around the yard) and obtain serial No. then contact Eurovox to be told that I have to complete their 'Request for Code' form and send it to them with the $22 fee!!!
Still waiting for them to send form.

Having worked in car audio repair we used to find ways around the code. I think what we used to do with Eurovox was to pull the code chip out of a known unit that was unrepairable (usually cost reasons) and fit it into the other unit. However it was cheaper when including labour just to ask Eurovox.
I got the code for my Rodeo from the Holden dealer it was originally sold to. They just gave it to me over the phone![]()
Roger, re yours, there is a website where you can get the code if you have the model and serial no.. I'll see if i can find it.
