C4/LT95 lengths

Hi Slunnie
Dont know if the info is what you want.
I have a C4 to Series TC in my resting project,as does my Bro in his 2a wagon.
Seatons Engineers in WA do the kit.Basicaly they remove the long output housing from the C4 and replace it with there own sort output to match original landy gearbox length:cool::cool::cool::cool:The new housing bolts to the series TC,the original output shaft from the C4 is shortened,re cut to suit the landy TC then re-hardened.
A real neat conversion,given that the Series TC is indestructable!!!.

Be carefull when lookn at the autos slunnie dont make the mistake of getting the BW35/LT95 as there cr@p this setup is what was in the old rangie that you passed on and has since been passed on the difference is that the C4 only uses the back of the LT95 and not the whole case like the BW35 thus fitting in tha same spot as the LT95 were as the BW35 has to be moved back around 6 or so inches ....

As for LT95's there good but i have managed to kill mine and its the T/case that has busted so a taper roller kit may be the go if i can find one at the right $$$$$.....

Looks like I'm heading down the ZF/LT230 path which is good, and thanks Rovercare! This should be exciting as I like the ZF and LT230's.

I do have a friend who is doing the same with his Stage 1 ute. The difference is that he wants to pursuit the C4/LT95 route.
If there is anybody with the kit to do this conversion could you please PM it all to me and how much you would like for it and I will pass that on to him. I'm assuming he will need everything such as flexplate, gearboxs, coolers, controls etc. or as much of it as he can get. He lives between Sydney and Newcastle if there are shipping issues.

Slunnie il ask a few guys up here to see whats about mite be able to find something has your mate thought about the tourqeflite/LT95 combo as well as it would be just as reliable and much the same sorta costs for rebuilds...

G'day Lokka,

Mate, thats a really good question. We'd only really chatted about the C4 and ZF, and to be quite honest I'm not sure if he knew about of or had any thoughts on the Torqueflight. When we crawled under the 4WD's last weekend, the thing that really attracted him to maintaining the LT95 transfer was that the mounting system is very straight forward for him as the mounts go directly into the chassis, where the LT230 looks like it requires a crossmember plated in, which isn't really the path he wanted to take. This said, we were comparing a series set of mounts to a Discovery LT230 mount, so perhaps the Defenders mount the LT230 in a different manner.

Mate ive never seen it tho i doubt id miss that thing looks like slime on simex :D:D:D:D
As for te mounting of the LT230 it only mounts t one rail and the gearbox mounts to the other the TX bolts up to the rail with a bracket on the drivers side and then to the back of the gearbox and the box has a mount to the pass side rail and they use the same mount pozzys as the LT95 i have a few bits n peices here which he may be interested in .....
