Yeah Dave,
Not happy. Pkus I have now been without it since 1/4/08. I do 80000 km a year which is not fun in the 4BD1 Rangie. Plus, it is not the most professional looking truck to turn up to a customers in.

Ash, you need an LT230 from a D2, just too much modifying if you get a D1 TC, it would cost you less if you got your Transfer case fixed.
Give AMV in Vic a call, they have about 10 D2s that their wrecking at the moment, they are very reasonable with their prices.
Baz.
Well I got a quote from British Off Road for $1100 exc for a second hand unit or $2200 + GST exc for a full reco unit.
Can someone give me a guide as to if these are good bad or indifferent?
LT230's are USUALLY pretty bulletproof. I would just buy a S/H one rather than a reco.
Well after a day of ringing around, I had quotes from $650(LVS not in stock) to $2800 (Triumph Rover Spares Adelaide)
Britsh Off Road were the second cheapst of the ones in stock but cheaper when you factor in freight.
Thought I would pass this on if it happens to anyone else.
OK, I misread it,
we developed some low range gears, customers wanted the lower the better, we made 80% lower and customers said they were too low !, a few failed as the diameters were too small and we dropped it,
we now just make the underdrive instead, better solution in our opinion :
