    Problems filling 3.5EFI fuel tank

She's and '89 3.5EFI RR which I understand has an 80lt fuel tank. However I can only inject 60lt of fuel when filling up as soon as the light comes on. And I fill it up reeeeaaaallllyyy slowly until it dribbles out of the filler.

Surely it doesnt set the low fuel light level at 20lt? So I'm guessing I have a dodgy low fuel sensor or I've got a filler tube problem. Perhaps I should wait until the fuel light comes on and drain the tank to see how much it's holding.

Sounds about right. My '91 V8 Disco chugged along for 90 odd k's after the fuel light came on. That was loaded on a highway trip and we only stopped because I'd run out of fingernails Jerry the can came to the rescue - it was a bit of an experiment...

Hello the fuel low light on this model is determined by the fuel gauge not the sender unit. It is preset in the dash binnical. In The older models its determined by the fuel sender unit. So I would say your actual needle in the dash may be out and needs looking at.
I have my original fuel gauge hooked up to my gas tanks (lpg) and when its on empty the light comes on and this is with a non standard sender.
