Get a hold of a multi meter and place over battery terminals and sea if the voltage is erratic
My Disco has started this weird electrical flicking.
Hard to describe, but all of the lights pulse about 3 times per second.
If I was an Epileptic I would have fitted on the way home tonight.
Any Ideas? I'm thinking voltage regulator or something.....

Hi Hymie,
Some of the weirdest electrical gremlins are due to bad earth connections.
Check you battery negative clamp (and +ve clamp too, for that matter), then the various places where the negative cable contacts the body and chassis. From memory, that's just behind the battery platform to the body, then onto the chassis and there'll be a cable from the chassis to the engine block somewhere where I can't recall just now.
If this doesn't reveal any faults, then perhaps a short prayer to Joseph Lucas (aka The prince of Darkness)...

I believe this is what happens when one of the field rectifiers goes bad in the alternator.
I suggest a visit to an auto electrician , after you check all the earths.

PS usually with a bad earth you will get a glowing red alt light.
