New Compressor , any thoughts ?

regarding the Point you made , I'm actually going relocate the compressor outside the grarage whilst spraying , and set up the grarage as a DIY spray booth. will that option be feasible?

what sort of Airfilter will I need to fit the Compressor ? any opinions or thoughts on this ? may be a Hilcone to make it go better?:p

I quoted 350RRC before your response and hadn't completed it prior to seeing your response . couple of things i need to clarify , the compressor has a pressure switch set to Auto and once tank pressurised to about 110 psi ( according to gauges ) it wil cut off .

Would I need to empty air out of the tank before end of each night?

Will 12CFM be sufficient enough volume of air to operate air operated tools 'such as impact /rattle guns etc?

Khos, I would run air tools off the LHS fitting (unregulated air supply) and if you are going to do any painting I would remove the regulator off the RHS and put a Quick connect air line fitting in its place,.Then run a short bit of hose to a Quality Air/Water Filter and Regulator mounted higher than the compressor (to stop water running up to your Reg. and Filter), say on a stand or on a wall of your shed. Regulators work by screwing in the handle (clockwise) to increase air pressure and out (anti-clockwise) to reduce air pressure, some have a push down/pull up lock on the knob to lock in position, so you may have to pull the knob up/out before you can adjust. As said elsewhere here it is a good idea to have the compressor outside of the shed/building you are spraying in as the paint mist will gum up the valves in the heads, usually stainless steel flapper type valves, very thin metal flappers that can be damaged by paint particles, Hope this helps mate, let me know if you're down this way again and I'll organise a run into the mountains for the day (or two), Regards Frank.

are set at 120PSI shut off and I would just switch it off at the plug when it's not in use.

Ive got the clubhouse comp set up on a timer so it only operates between 7am and 7pm so it wont kill it self over night while no ones around.

12 CFM should be good enough for a rattle gun or the like, just allow it to charge up and it will be fine.

Doh , that's one of the reason i bought the damn thing , that's it , I'm taking it back and getting the 15CFM monster version :twisted:
